Warranty Policy

12-month limited warranty on manufacturing defects.

12-Month Limited Warranty

Pots For Grabs warrants that our GRC products are free from manufacturing defects for 12 months from the date of purchase. This warranty covers structural defects only and does not cover damage resulting from handling, misuse, or conditions outside normal outdoor use.

What the warranty covers

  • Structural failure under normal outdoor planting use within 12 months of purchase.
  • Significant delamination of the GRC layers that impairs structural integrity.
  • Severe cracking that develops without external impact within 12 months, indicating a material defect.

What the warranty does NOT cover

  • Cracks, chips, or breaks caused by dropping, striking, tipping, or impact by objects.
  • Damage from freezing water expanding inside an enclosed pot (do not seal drainage holes in frost-prone areas).
  • Surface crazing, hairline cracks, or minor cosmetic marks inherent to handcrafted GRC.
  • Colour fading or surface weathering under UV exposure, normal for outdoor materials.
  • Damage from chemical contact: bleach, acid-based fertilisers, rust inhibitors, or solvents.
  • Products that have been drilled, cut, painted, or structurally modified.
  • Damage resulting from misuse, overloading, or use outside of the intended purpose.
  • Normal wear and tear over time.
  • Products purchased through an unauthorised third-party reseller.

Making a warranty claim

To make a warranty claim, email info@potsforgrabs.co.za with:

  • Your order number
  • Clear photographs of the defect
  • A description of when and how the defect appeared
  • Date of purchase

We will respond within 3 business days. If the claim is approved, we will offer a replacement (subject to stock availability), store credit, or partial refund at our discretion.

Note: The warranty is non-transferable and applies to the original purchaser only.

Care tips to protect your pots

  • Always lift pots from the base, never drag across hard surfaces.
  • Use pot feet or stands to allow drainage and prevent water accumulation in frost-prone areas.
  • Do not seal drainage holes in winter if your area experiences freezing temperatures.
  • Avoid contact with bleach, acid-based products, or organic solvents.
  • Very large pots should be moved with at least two people and a sack trolley.
