The Material
Why GRC?
Frost-resistant
GRC fibre cement handles cold Highveld winters without the freeze-thaw cracking that splits clay and terracotta. Safe for highland gardens.
UV-stable
The surface holds its colour and finish under intense South African sun without fading or degrading.
Lighter than solid concrete
GRC is a fraction of the weight of cast concrete, making it practical to move, install and deliver.
Tougher than clay
Tougher than brittle clay or terracotta, and it will not shatter into pieces the way they do. It is still cast cement and can chip on a hard knock, so position it once and leave it. Built for years of outdoor use.
